  • Announcing the OTSi Assessment Toolkit, Guideline and On-Demand Training Webinar OTSi has launched the Assessment Toolkit & Guideline – a practical, evidence-informed framework to help therapists deliver high-quality, consistent NDIS assessments for people with psychosocial disability and autism.

Why this matters:

  • Quality, well-structured disability evidence is essential for fair NDIS decisions, at both NSIS access point and plan reassessment.

  • Structured methodology – mapping ICF-aligned assessment findings to the six legislated functional domains.
  • Integration of functional capacity and support needs assessment – ensuring both eligibility and support justification are clearly documented.
  • Alignment with NDIS Act (as amended 2024) – embedding compliance into clinical workflows.
  • Practical preparation guidance – helping participants, families, and supporters to contribute effectively to the process

  • A process to update the resource quarterly – to ensure policy changes are embedded and the toolkit reflects current requirements. The toolkit is accompanied by an on-demand training webinar covering:
    • Provision of disability evidence
    • Functional capacity assessment approaches and tools
    • Support needs assessment and evidence presentation
    • Legislative overview and recent changes to NDIS assessment requirements

We encourage practitioners to access the resource, integrate it into practice, and share with colleagues. High-quality assessments are not only a therapist responsibility – they are a key tool for fair, participant-centred outcomes in the NDIS. OTSi has made the Guideline freely available. All resources are free for OTSi members, including the on-demand training webinar.
